Getting the ingeredients right
International Detergent Chemicals Ltd. (“IDC”) produced Tetra Acetyl Ethylene Diamine (TAED). TAED was introduced to the market in the late 1970s as an active ingredient used in powder laundry detergents, in automatic dishwashing tablets and in laundry additives and is used in highly successful washing brands such as “Vanish Oxi Action”. Its function can be described as ‘oxygen bleach activator’ which enables comparable washing/cleaning results at significantly lower temperatures. It thus helps save energy.
IDC featured a long and successful history of delivering high-quality and dependable raw materials for powder laundry detergents and automatic dishwashing detergents. Continuous process optimization and investment has resulted in an increase to 12,000 mt/a TAED capacity. TAED products from IDC are particularly customized for sieved qualities, colours and packaging to fit specific requirements.
In July 2012 IDC was sold to Warwick Chemicals UK (today part of Lubrizol).
